Investors in People Award

The North Devon Enterprise Agency has been reaccredited with the Investors in People (IIP) Award. Reviews and reaccreditations take place every three years.

Dane Stanley, director of the North Devon Enterprise Agency said, “All businesses are run by people who need to be given opportunity for self development, so enabling them to learn new skills which will enhance the job they do. This might sound obvious, but it isn’t always done.

“Clearly my team need time to keep themselves informed and to undertake training in new skills, both of which can be passed on to the clients. This keeps the clients satisfied, and they tell others - in essence what every business wants.

“IIP has been useful in creating a framework which enables us to check that what we do is effective. The fact that someone comes to review what you do makes sure you take action. Every business is under enormous time constraints, but I would like to emphasis that time spent on this will benefit the business - any business.

“We were very pleased to have been reaccredited. The agency was commended for its clear goals and values, together with team spirit, and excellent training programmes.

“The role of the Enterprise Agency is to offer free help, advice and information for new and existing businesses. We give advice on business planning, training needs, finance, and marketing, and we run workshops to cover an array of subjects that fall into these categories.

“We have a number of success stories of people who have come to us with their ideas and received in return free, practical and friendly business advice. We are always willing to see people and our team of advisors are experienced in their different fields. We have three advisors, Jerry Bix, Janet Herniman and Peter Worrall, and in addition Lorraine Furse and
